About Me

I paint with dyes and resist on a silk canvas, blending pattern with picture in order to express the essence and energy of the place, or form. Silk painting gives a unique character, both fluid and still.

I am always in awe of the sea, and all kinds of nature, life, song! Whatever form takes the moment, I try to describe, or communicate this indefinite essence, the lasting impression that’s left beyond senses.

After living in Europe, then spending 18 years in the Pacific Northwest, and now Texas, I  appreciate the contrasts and richness of such different landscapes, and wildlife. Whether I’m painting landscapes of the US or Europe, or anything else, I hope to be able to convey the joy I experience in witnessing life, in harnessing an idea, communicating the experience, and share the sense of awe and discovery as they appear to me, wherever I am.
